Lake Of The Ozarks: Ozark Mountains, Missouri, Party Cove, State Park, And Vacation Rentals

On just about every family sitcom to date, at some point the father deems it a good idea to take an entire family outing, much to the dismay of the rest of the family and comic relief for the audience. The location chosen tends to be a poor choice, the ineptitude of the father leading the family results in conflict with nature. The occasional park ranger will either save the family, or more humorously, make them even more miserable. Visits to state parks do not require a sitcom situation, though, nor do they always end in such disastrous situations. In reality, some of the reasoning for the TV patriarch's trip out through nature remains valid in real life, and a prominent destination to avoid a lot of the TV family's foibles is the Lake of the Ozarks.

Situated among the scenic Ozark Mountains in central Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks is a few hours drive from several major cities such as St. Louis, Kansas City and Branson. Each of the cities remain far enough away to maintain the feel of communing with nature without making reentry into standard civilization a difficult or distant feat. Considering the plethora of entertainment options Lake of the Ozarks offers, though, families seem more likely to make a speedy return than a hasty exit.

The Lake of the Ozarks state park offers a wide range of activities. Visitors can use an undeveloped cove as a party cove, given the right kind of decorations. A trip to the Ozark Mountains to host a party may not strike a person as the first choice for the event, but few other places can offer a locale as unique as a party cove. Visitors may also appreciate Lake of the Ozarks through vacation rentals such as boats and mountain bikes or an evening of horseback riding. Another option for vacation rentals, fishing supplies appear in abundance in the area to facilitate on of the most obvious recreational activities on Lake of the Ozarks--fishing. A day license at Lake of the Ozarks costs only $5.50, so for a little more than the price of a city coffee, one can enjoy the excitement of fishing for an entire day at the park.

Missouri has plenty of nature to explore, but Lake of the Ozarks offers so much in a single area that passing on it would constitute a folly greater than any sitcom father has heretofore attempted. Whether out with the family our just wanting to get away from everyone, including the family, the Lake of the Ozarks offers entertainment galore alongside ample opportunity for peace. A TV dad or real life one could ask for little more.
